Kunitoraya 2 RESTAURANT - Paris
Where? In Paris, near the Opera Garnier.
What? An unconventional Japanese restaurant.
For who? Modern kaiseki enthusiasts.
With whom? A couple of friends who wants to try traditional Japanese cuisine, without any excessive budget or austere atmosphere.
My feeling? Kunitoraya is an institution in Paris for his udons the Rue Saint Anne.
What some people don’t know is its chic second address a few meters away.
Behind a rough front, Kunitoraya 2 is immersed in a former French brasserie setting that contrasts nicely with its traditional Japanese cuisine.
I like to enjoy the 7 courses dinner and taste Japanese cuisine classics, with a few truffle and caviar touches. Full of freshness and simplicity, the Uni (sea urchin) and Yuzu, the tuna tataki with truffle and the fresh udons definitely worth a visit…
What I love?
The Uni and yuzu vinegar jelly;
The audacity of a Japanese in a traditional French decor;
The affordable price of a Japanese tasting menu in Paris;
5, rue Villedo
