Jack O'Shea - Brussels

- , , , , , , , ,

This week I visited my friend Jack’s brand new chophouse. The famous Irish butcher of the European quarter has already been supplying me every Wednesday. I do not eat meat every day, but when I do so, I want it to be exceptional. And Jack has for a long time the best Angus of the capital.

The opening of Brussels most attended steakhouse has taken place next to Place Sainte Catherine. After having listened to the country music, sipped a few bullshots at the bar, you will enter the Jack O’Shea’s wild universe.

Since there are not many ways to enjoy good meat, the short menu gives a short choice between the classic Angus steak, fillet, Wagyu ribeye and lamb chops. I chose the special of the day – the US Ribeye – which was perfectly aged and literally melting in the mouth. The butcher’s products are beyond competition therefore a simple barbecue sauce, and some grilled tomatoes and potatoes are sufficient to accompany its wonderful taste.

Indeed, Jack O’Shea is still on top.

The Foodalist’s tips:

Jack O’Shea will open a new counter in Uccle soon, in the Fort Jaco neighborhood.

On Sundays, you can go there to have a brunch.

I love:

  1. The laid-back steakhouse where you feel in a ranch;
  2. The US Ribeye….amazing!

I like less:

The service can still be random but that’s often the case on opening days.
