In Saint Gilles, there is La Buvette.

This is one of my favorite confidential addresses. One of those that you only share with best friends, because it is too good, affordable, and tiny (14 places downstairs). The tiles and counter of this former butchery bring me back to a nostalgic time that belongs to old Brussels.

I go to La Buvette to have dinner with friends or a gourmet girls lunch.

Nothing here is “too much”. Neither the dishes nor the service. Ingredients are chosen according to season , and are perfectly cooked to keep their taste. A fair balance between the creativity and the respect of the food itself …

Each time I go there, I spend a perfect moment.

I love :

  1. The uniqueness of the place and the modernity of the plate;
  2. Let me be surprised by the unique menu ;
  3. The homemade bread and butter that changes depending on the mood ( butter with mushrooms , butter, cottage cheese …)
  4. The bistronomie to cool prices (lunch 25 euros, 5 services , dinner € 45 , 7 services);
  5. The selection of natural wines and beers of all kinds.

I like a bit less:

The slow coffee , a very special filtered coffee, too bitter for me.
