Latest Chatelain restaurant is called Marcel.
A burger bar like many others? Yes, but better. Because it’s the first burger bar next to Place du Chatelain, and because Marcel emphasizes on quality and homemade products: the meat comes from Metzger, cheese is handcrafted, and french fries are freshly cut at the counter. The ones looking for classical burgers will enjoy Marcel or crispy chicken ones, while the more daring will opt for the Sweet Lamb, or Veggie Quinoa.
As burger bread is very relevant, Marcel prepared it according to an original recipe “without much crumb” so it doesn’t fall apart when you put the piece in your mouth.
Originally from Paris, Marcel told me his biggest challenge was to challenge the Belgian fries. I must say he succeeded in this, as the classic are as crispy as on Place Jourdan, and the sweet potato ones are divine. Finally, to finalise his concept, Marcel thought to match each of his creations with a homemade Belgian beer selected by David, his beerologist.
I walked out of this new burger bar satisfied with the feeling of having eaten quality junk food.
