Nahm - Bangkok

- , , , ,

The wonderful crab curry is the best in town.

Located on the ground floor of the Metropolitan Hotel on Sathorn Road in Bangkok, Nahm’s decor combines a tasteful mix of Thai-styled brick columns and latticed wooden screens in a soothing modern atmosphere.

Nahm’s cuisine was originally created by the Australian Michelin-starred chef David Thompson, who mastered the art of cooking Thai dishes.

To reflect nineteenth-century Thai royal gastronomy, the pinnacle of Thai cooking, Thompson elegantly combined the freshness of products grown by local farmers and the power of carefully chosen spices: garlic, chilli, shrimp paste, lemongrass and curry.

Try the chopped catfish with shallots, chilli and Thai basil, the incredible crab curry, the smoked fish curry with prawns, chicken livers, cockles, chillies and black pepper and, as a dessert, the Pandanus noodles with black sticky rice, water chestnuts, tapioca and coconut cream.

In 2018, chef Pim Techamuanvivit, of San Francisco’s Michelin-starred Kin Khao restaurant, took over the kitchen.
